Paul Clark

BA (Hons) Diploma in Management Studies, Honorary Doctorate in Recognition of Regeneration Programme, Director, Gateway Associates (UK) Ltd

Paul Clark has focussed much of his working life to date in the British Trade Union movement and at the heart of the UK Government. Paul worked for the Amalgamated Union of Engineering Workers (1980-1986) (now Unite) as a researcher to the President and General Secretary and subsequently as the union's education officer. He then transferred to the Trades Union Congress where Paul worked for 11 years managing the TUC's residential training and conference centre in London.
In 1997 Paul was elected as the Labour Member of Parliament for Gillingham and Rainham (35 miles south east of London). During his 13 years in Parliament he held various positions including Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister, to the Housing and Regeneration Minister (Lord Falconer of Thornton), Government Whip and Transport Minister with responsibility for, amongst other things, aviation, shipping, roads, railways and road safety. Paul was recognised as a 'campaigning' MP, working closely with his constituents and seeking to make Parliament as accessible and as relevant as possible. Paul remains closely linked with the political establishment in the UK and holds a number of unpaid positions within the voluntary sector and with universities in the UK.
In 2010 Paul established Gateway Associates (UK) Ltd and Gateway Associates (Uganda) Ltd. The ethos behind 'Gateway' is to assist organisations to open the gateways to their goals and aspirations, by combining a vast network of talents and skills that Paul and other associates have amassed over the years. He is married with two grown up children.

MSc. Globalisation and Corporate Governance, PGCE in Development Studies, B Agric. Animal Science, Advanced Diploma in Sustainable Development, NVQ Level 5 in Health and Safety

Nicholas has over 18 years proven expertise in development and management training; especially in sustainable development, general management and construction / health and safety. He has background in a wide range of industries, including construction, agriculture, corporate management, hygiene services and occupational health and safety. He was instrumental to the coordination of extension workers and service providers training for over 7 years at Farmers Care Project in Swaziland, Southern Africa from 1999, where he remains an ex-officio director to date. Nicholas has a MSc in Development Studies, with specialisation in Globalisation and Corporate Governance at the University of South Africa, where he obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Development Studies in 2008. He also has a B. Agric from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria in 1992, with specialty in Animal Sciences. He is the Executive Director at the Centre for Regional and International Development, and was instrumental to CRID's extended operations in the African sub region, and played key roles in its extension to Asia and the Caribbean. He is married and a father of four children.
